MAUS Stixx PRO
Electric enclosures are the most common cause of fires in electrical installations. The MAUS Stixx PRO series is a revolution in fire suppression and consists of award-winning small units that are easily placed in electric enclosures to prevent the fire from spreading from the electric enclosure to the building.
Reasons for fires in electrical enclosures
Badly routed or old cables
Even electricity has a best-before date, and when this is passed, the electricity system poses a risk. It is age that causes old materials to weather and also the influence of the surrounding materials
Lightning strikes
A lightning strike may lead to fire in the electrical system as the lightning seeks to ground itself through the conductive wiring.
Bad & Loose components
If the electronics are cheap or not tight, it is probably the case that inferior components and materials were used. It will easily become hot inside the electrical center and if it is not detected in time, it can after a while result in a fire
An innovative solution
MAUS Stixx PRO is an automatic fire protection device that extinguishes the fire before it even starts. This award-winning innovation is installed in any small space where a fire may occur. It triggers automatically at 170°C and fills the space with a potassium-based smoke that absorbs the heat of the fire and breaks into the chemical composition of the fire, extinguishing it. Smaller than a normal marker, it fits everywhere and acts as a preventive fire protection. The causes of a fire in a home's electrical panel are many. Bad cables, broken components, too tight or too loose connections, lightning strikes, old wiring, overloading, etc. are all potential hazards that put lives at risk.

Areas of application
Outboards (under the hood), in the electrical and battery compartments of motorhomes/caravans, in the electrical panel of an apartment/house, EV charge stations, and all other small areas where a fire can occur.
These are all important areas to protect against fire.
Advantages of the MAUS Stixx Pro Series
Does not harm electric components.
No electricity, no pressure and no battery needed.
Protects from 0,1 m³ to 5 m³(chain connection).
100% non-toxic and environmentally friendly potassium mix.
Small and portable size.
Activation at a very low temperature 170°C.
Technology
Inside the MAUS products there is a solid substance of a potassium compound. Potassium radicals are very active and they interrupt the chemical combustion of very small particles of gas, the result is a more effective extinguishing agent than conventional powder. Another important feature of aerosols is that the dropping of velocity of the particles decreases as the surface becomes larger in relation to the mass, which makes the air resistance relatively large in relation to the gravitational force. This results in particles staying suspended for a longer period of time, contributing to a longer inerting period creating a re-ignition protection. Together, these factors make PGA (pyrotechnical generated aerosols) a very effective extinguishing agent. The extinguishing effect per unit of weight is in the range of 3-10 times.
Certifications
Since MAUS works with a technology that is new and not conventional, they have had to be creative to find solutions to certify the technology to make sure that they can prove that it does what they say it does and that it’s a safe product to market. To prove this MAUS does Module B tests in Germany together with BAM (bam.de) and Module E tests with Fiditas (fiditas.com). These tests and the yearly audits Fiditas performs at MAUS’ headquarters is the foundation of the more advanced Swedish CE Mark 2829 that has been received. Having no standard for approval is a lot different to not meeting the standard of approval and therefor we push the development forward to create new standards for other larger certification agencies so we can achieve more certifications. We also report and follow the regulations regarding chemicals through ECHA, Kemikalieinspektionen and REACH.
